Murder Of Far Rockaway Man Finally Solved

Nassau County Police, with the help of various witnesses, have finally caught the last of three Inwood men who allegedly fatally shot a Far Rockaway man last year.

According to police, Naiquan Tolliver, 23, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder and criminal solicitation. He was to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead this week for allegedly supplying a .38 caliber pistol to an unidentified teenager, which was then used to kill Derrell Heart, 22, of Far Rockaway, on September 12, 2006.

Nassau County authorities say Heart was shot in an act of revenge because the trio of suspects including Tolliver, Carl Davis, 19, and the unidentified teen shooter believed Heart had previously shot their friend.

Police had apprehended the unidentified teenager suspect and Davis in November, but were searching for Tolliver to complete their investigation. The unidentified teen shooter faces charges of second-degree murder and felony criminal use of a firearm. Davis, 19, from Valley Stream, was charged with second-degree attempted murder, criminal solicitation, and felony assault. Tolliver and Davis were also being sought by police in connection with another shooting incident in Inwood shortly after the murder of the Far Rockaway man.
