Howie Mandel At North Fork Theatre January 12

Live Nation presents Canadian comedian, actor, and game show host Howie Mandel on Saturday, January 12, at 8 p.m. He is best known for his role as Dr. Wayne Fiscus on "St. Elsewhere" and currently, as the host of NBC's "Deal or No Deal." Mandel was first noticed while performing at the legendary Comedy Store on amateur night. A producer in the crowd hired him immediately to be on the comedy/game show "Make Me Laugh." His appearance on the show, which included his signature stunt of placing a latex glove over his head and inflating it with his nostrils until it propelled itself off of his head, led to talk show appearances and a stint as the opening act for Diana Ross. In 1981, Mandel became the first "VeeJay" to appear on Nickelodeon's music video series, "Pop Clips." Ayear later, he landed the role of Dr. Wayne Fiscus on the award-winning NBC drama, "St. Elsewhere," where he remained for six seasons. During this time, Mandel was also the voice of Gizmo in the 1984 hit movie, "Gremlins," and its 1990 sequel, "Gremlins 2: The New Batch." In 1990, Mandel's Emmy Award-nominated animated children's series, "Bobby's World," began its eight- season run. Mandel was the creator and executive producer, as well as the voices of Bobby and his father. Howie was closely involved in the writing of the show, which now appears in syndication, six-daysa week, in 65 countries. Mandel is also known for his frequent hidden camera segments on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," as well as his cameo roles on "My Name is Earl" and "Medium." He is the first person called to fill in for Regis when he is on vacation from "Live With Regis and Kelly." Mandel became one of the few entertainers to host both a domestic and an international version of the same game show, with "Deal or No Deal" in both the U.S. and Canada.
