"Post members were concerned about reports that the care of our soldiers at Walter Reed was not up to par… we found a clean, well-equipped facility with a kind, dedicated, caring and friendly staff," said past Department Commander James W. Casey. The veterans spent three-and-a-half hours talking to patients and staff. The post delegation, led by Commander Vincent J. Calimano, also gave the staff 40 additional sweatshirts and T-shirts to be distributed to wounded soldiers.
The post members also distributed gifts to those family members visiting their loved ones.
