Commercial Growth Moving Along Smoothly

Despite delays in construction from a DOT temporary stop work order, the new Rite Aid Pharmacy on Beach 108 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard is shaping up nicely and is nearly completed.
Residents can expect more commercial progress similar to this new diner coming soon to busy Beach 116 Street, after the block is rezoned by the city to encourage commercial development.
The former Rockaway Sunset Diner was demolished to make way for a new HSBC Bank on Beach Channel Drive and Beach 116 Street, which is expected to be open by early next year.
