Giving mothers and their children a chance to spend quality time together, the Sorrentino Recreation Center hosted the 16th Annual Mommy & Me Double Dutch Tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Twenty-six families competed in five age divisions - 3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 during the fun-filled afternoon on November 24.

All participants received a medal, and first place finishers in each division were given trophies.

The winners in each division were Javon Langston (3 to 5), Iyannah Young (6 to 8), Niyah Ensley (9 to 11), Ilhani Young (12 to 14) and Laa-neisha Jones (15-17).
Three generations of Double-Dutch - Quianna Brown, Yatte Brown and Laa-neisha Jones - took home a trophy.
Stan Brown, back, joins participants as they pose for a group photo after the competition. "What makes a winner is a person who finishes what they start," said Brown.
