for larger version       John James Moran Jr. Retired John James Moran Jr., a lifelong Rockaway resident, died November 28. He was 76. Moran, a retired member of the Iron Workers Local 580, was born in Rockaway Beach on March 14, 1931. He was stationed in German while serving his country in the U.S. Army. Moran was also a member of St. Francis de Sales Church He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and James. He is survived by his daughters, Irene Finley and Patricia Kohler (Jim); sons, John (Patricia) and William (Domenique); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Charles; and sister, Mary Woods.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, with visitation to be held on Saturday, December 1, from 7-10 p.m. and Sunday, December 2, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 3 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
