Put a Freeze on Winter

The Youth Councils of the Far Rockaway NAACP and the Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corporation (RDRC) are teaming up to keep Rockaway's less fortunate warm during the winter months.

With the winter and holiday season approaching rapidly, the two groups are calling on all local churches, civic organizations and citizens to help ensure that the less fortunate in our area stay warm. The Youth Councils are asking for donations of coats, canned goods, and winter garments to help clothe and feed those in need.

Donations are being accepted at RDRC's office at 1920 Mott Avenue, second floor, Far Rockaway; and at The First Church of God, 1425 Beach Channel Drive, Far Rockaway.

All items will be collected until December 11. The first set of coats will be dispersed at the First Church of God on December 15.
