for larger version       PS 225 Black Racism Letter I want to take this opportunity to address the flyer on black racism that was found on the school grounds of PS 225. While it is unfortunate that the author of this letter was supposedly treated this way, I find it hard to believe some of what he says. I am 25- years-old and my sister is 28. When we both attended PS 225, the majority of the kids in the school were Caucasian. If the author of this letter is 34, I highly doubt that the majority of kids going to PS 225 at that time were black. It is also irresponsible of the author to incite racial tension amongst parents and especially, children, who really don't understand. If he really wants to bring about change for the benefit of his and our children, why not call ALL people to unite together and erase racism, instead of promoting separatism. Until there is an equality of education amongst all schools, regardless of the race that attends, our children of all races, will continue to turn to violence and away from books. I am in agreement with the author using a quote most famously known from Malcolm X's 1965 speech. We should unite and demand change "by any means necessary," so that our children can grow up in a civilized world.
