for larger version       PHC Announces New Procedure for Dialysis Patients
The Angiojet Program, which is under the direction of Mihai Rosca, M.D., is a procedure that utilizes a cutting-edge device to help remove clots from dialysis access shunts. This new procedure is very efficient and can often be done without a hospital stay. The Angiojet Program will help kidney failure patients to keep their dialysis access in working order for longer periods of time. Dr. Rosca joined the faculty of Peninsula Hospital Center earlier this year, as a vascular and endovascular surgeon. He is a board-certified vascular surgeon with expertise in traditional vascular surgery, vascular medicine and the new field of endovascular surgery. These new endovascular techniques continue to bring state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedures to the residents of the Rockaways. Dr. Rosca graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in May, 1994. He completed his training in General Surgery at the North Shore-LIJ Medical Center in June 1999; followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at State University of New York in Buffalo in June 2001. To enhance his already extensive training, Dr. Rosca completed an additional year of training in endovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute. Currently on the staff of the North Shore-LIJ Health System hospitals, Dr. Rosca is now available to treat vascular conditions with vascular medicine, open vascular and endovascular modalities at Peninsula Hospital Center.
