Pictured here is the Grand Madame herself, Connie Taylor.
Connie Taylor celebrated her 87th birthday on Saturday, October 20, with a newly formed Rockaway association, Friends Honoring Friends. Taylor is a long time resident of Ocean Bay Houses (formerly Arverne Houses).

The event was co-sponsored by the Addabbo Health Clinic, Ocean Bay CDC, St. John's Hospital, Andrew Langer (Century 21, Dunkin Donuts) and Jeremiah Gaffney. The celebration was held at the Imperial Room in Inwood. Also in attendance were New York State Assemblymembers Audrey Pheffer and Michele Titus; New York City Council Member James Sanders; NYS committee member, Valerie West; NYC Housing representative, Willie Tryanham; Captain Brian McMahon and Community Relations Officer Juan Nunez of the 101 Precinct; former NAACP President, Lovette Glasgow; and family, friends, and community residents.
