for larger version       Cyril Edgar Parkinson Whyte Accountant Cyril Parkinson Whyte, a longtime Rockaway resident, died November 9. Whyte was born on December 17, 1918 in East Coast Guyana, Guyana, South America. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Louisa; sisters, Lydia and Babsie; and relatives, Georgie and Amy. Whyte is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Nevelle, Joan, Bob, Robert, Roxanne, Patricia, Carl and Andrea; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Pat and Clare; and son-in-law, Alex.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and services were held at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Disposition was at Fresh Pond Crematory in Middle Village, New York.
