McGarrell was born on August 11, 1960 in Georgetown, Guyana. She was preceded in death her parents; sister, Joan Thompson; and niece, Ylone Bristol. McGarrell is survived by her husband, Gregory Crawford, sons, Shawn and Randy; grandchildren, Ras- Shawn, Jah-male, Jaheim and Jeremiah; brothers, Rudolph, Morris, and Noel; sisters, Paulette, Elsie and Dawn; great-nieces, Janita and Ciarra; great-nephews, Kaddiean and Shamar; friends, Audrey and Elaine; family and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and services were held at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Plaisance Cemetery in Guyana, South America.
