Our Children

The writer of the following letter asked that his name not be used because he fears retribution against his school-age child. The Wave granted his request. Dear Editor,

There are a few questions I would like to ask regarding our children. Why is it alright to drink in our neighborhood as a teen? Why do we as parents, interfere in every aspect of their sports programs? Did our parents yell and complain when we didn't make the team? Have you checked who your kids are hanging around with? Whatever happened to that nice kid they used to pal around with? Have you ever seen a generation of spoiled, mean little brats? Are we creating the laziest generation? Do you ever check what they are doing on the computer? You would probably be shocked! Don't worry about who wrote this, worry about your children. Oh right, I forgot, not my child.
