Response to P.S. 225 Flyer
Dear Editor,

It is interesting to note that the person who distributed the flyers at P.S. 225 used a phrase made famous by Malcolm X, when he spoke of racial inequalities, i.e. "by any means necessary." Whoever distributed the flyers should have had the courage to sign them. If what they say is true, then there should be a full investigation of the facts and appropriate action taken. No child should be taunted because of their race or national origin. By coming forward, the author could help the authorities in finding a solution to any tension that may exist between diverse groups at the school.

I do not understand how the Board of Education spokesperson, Dina Paul Parks, could state that the principal is hard-working. If a D is the best that the school can get on the school's report card, then it may be time to get a new principal, since the children of Rockaway deserve better.
