Three Injured In Belle Harbor Crash
Three Public School 114 staffers, returning to the school from lunch on a half-day of school dedicated to parent visitations, were injured when the Nissan Altima they were riding in was struck broadside by a sport utility vehicle. While a police report detailing the accident is pending at press time, eyewitnesses told The Wave that one woman believed to be a teacher at the school, was transported to Peninsula Hospital Center, where she was treated and released. The other two reportedly returned to school to meet with parents. Police sources declined to identify either the driver of the SUV or the

three staffers in the damaged car. The driver of the SUV reportedly stopped and presented all of his documentation to police before he was allowed to leave the scene. Photo shows the damaged car resting near the crash site, at the intersection of Beach 137 Street and Newport Avenue. Photo by Susan Locke.
