Queens is the hardest-hit borough, showing a 200 percent increase in the number of foreclosure filings from July 2006 to July 2007. An estimated 2 million adjustable rate mortgages are scheduled to reset by the end of 2008, many going from a low introductory rate to a higher rate. The foreclosure program will focus on
what foreclosure is, how to avoid it, predatory scams and legal rights of homeowners. "I am outraged by what predatory lenders and their unscrupulous practices are doing to my community," stated Sanders.
