Local Costumier in Macy's Parade

Pictured is Earl Beckles, costume designer chosen to participate in the Macy's parade.
After a three-year hiatus, costume designer Earl Beckles has been chosen for a second time to display his Caribbean carnival costumes in Macy's 81st Thanksgiving Day parade.

"I was thrilled, but surprised to be included in 2004 - to be invited again is just amazing," stated Beckles.

Beckles is the head of E & J Productions, a Caribbean-American organization based in Far Rockaway. E & J Productions has created costumes for several New York annual parades including the Labor Day, Chinese New Year, and Halloween.

He will represent Trinidad and Tobago, world renowned for costumes and their annual carnival celebration, and Far Rockaway, birthplace of E & J Productions.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will air live on NBC, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Shown here is one of Beckles' creations, entitled The Dragon Can Dance. The Dragon is a fiery-red, fantastical character, with a wingspan of 16 feet.
