'Roc The Youth Tour'kicks off

On Monday, November 19, the Far Rockaway Youth Council and the RDRC Youth Council will kick-off the "Roc The Youth Tour." The first stop of the tour is the Arverne Library, located at 312 Beach 54 Street, at 6 p.m.

The tour is geared toward giving the youth on the peninsula a chance to express themselves through song, dance and poetry. Among those participating are True of the Rhyte Hitters, Sylfronia King of Platform Entertainment, and some of Rockaway's most talented youth. "We are excited to kick off the 'Roc The Youth Tour,' said RDRC Youth Council Advisor Jeffery Moye. "This tour is important because it will give our youth the opportunity to let their voices be heard. A lot of the time our kids need an outlet to express themselves and I am happy we are setting the trend."

The tour will make stops at local community centers, libraries and churches. Anyone interested should contact Donovan Richards.
