Bonnies Bounced From GCHSAA Volleyball Tournament

The Bonnies from Fontbonne Hall Academy experienced a disappointing result in the 2007 GCHSAA volleyball playoffs.

After finishing the regular season with a 9-1 record tied for first in the Brooklyn Division, the JV lost the tiebreaker to Bishop Kearney 2-1. The JV then met The Mary Louis Academy in the quarter-finals. In an exciting hard fought dual Fontbonne prevailed 2-1 over TMLA.

In the semi-finals, the JV Bonnies ran into a strong Saint Francis Prep team which proved to be better that day. Prep defeated the Bonnies 2-0 to end the JV season.

The Varsity finished the regular season with a 10-2 mark, in second place. They entered the playoffs against the Varsity from TMLA, who had finished third in the Queens division.

Mary Louis was able to defeat the Bonnies in four tough sets (25-23, 20- 25, 25-20, 26-24).

In consolation action, the Bonnie Varsity was able to defeat Bishop Loughlin 25-21, 25-14, 25-20, to secure a spot in the New York State Catholic High School Class "A" Championships, which take place Saturday November 10 at Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx.
