P.S.256 at P.S./ M.S.43 Visited Ground Zero

Students of P.S. 256 have been studying simple machines in science class. Ms. Monaghan, the science teacher, thought the best way to understand simple machines was to see them in action. Monaghan stated, "My students love to see science 'first hand' and this is an experience that they will file away and never forget." The students were well-prepared for the trip by their computer teacher, Ms. Fink, who gave lessons on the history of Ground Zero.

On Wednesday, October 24, students of P.S. 256, along with students from St. John's Residence for Boys, boarded buses and headed to Ground Zero, where they recorded as much data as possible on simple machines. Students saw machines in action and the progress taking place at Ground Zero.
