BCAC Green Shamrocks Tune Up For Sunday's "Peanut Bowl"

Last Sunday, the BCAC Green Peanut Shamrocks headed out to Plainview for their final regular season road game of the 2007 season.

The Shamrocks played their best game of the season in a final tune-up for this weekend's highly anticipated "Peanut Bowl" against the White Peanuts team.

QB Jack Allen along with teammate and center Luke Jackowski set the tempo for the Shamrocks. They helped direct the offense for two touchdowns and 210 total yards which is by far the Shamrocks highest output of the year.

Nick Wood opened the scoring with a beautiful 60-yard touchdown run. New running back Mike O'Connell also added a 30-yard touchdown run for the go-ahead score.

O'Connell's run wouldn't have been possible if not for the sensational blocking by offensive lineman John Weiss, Tim Mehta, and Aidan Clifford.

On defense the Shamrocks were everywhere. Kevin Koestner, Sebastian Freiberg, and Danny Clark each made 8 tackles to lead the ferocious attack. Once again, the Peanut Parents supplied plenty of support on the road as the Shamrock supporters outnumbered Plainview 2-1.

Don't forget to join us this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Field in Broad Channel for the grand finale of the 2007 season; the "Peanut Bowl."
