National High School Essay Contest

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), a national educational organization headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, is taking submissions for a nationwide high school student essay contest. High school students are invited to write an original 1,200 - 1,500 word essay on the topic, "George Washington and the Future of the American Presidency." The deadline for entry form submission is November 10 (email submission of entry form is permissible).

Essay must be typed, double spaced, and printed on one side of the paper. All essay submissions are due by close-of-business on January 12, 2008. Essays will be judged on scholarship, imagination and literary quality.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top eight essays.

All participating students will receive a free copy of "A Student's Guide to American Political Thought" (ISI book), membership to ISI, and ISI's journal of scholarship and opinion, the "Intercollegiate Review."
