The Seaside Library Celebrates Friends of Libraries Week

The Seaside Library, located on Beach 117 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, will celebrate Friends of Libraries Week on Saturday, October 27. Saturday service will also be returned to the seaside community on this day. Councilman Joseph Addabbo will be on hand for the festivities. This is the first time in five years that all of the Queens Library locations are open six days a week.

The newly re-chartered Seaside Friends of the Library group will be present, to promote its important work and to attract new members. The group will open The FriendsShop, a place for friends to shop and contribute at the same time. The shop will sell library-related merchandise to raise money for the children's library collection and to sponsor community-related programs and special events.
