New Bidding Opportunities for The Aging

Senator Malcolm A. Smith announced that the New York City Department for the Aging has released a new request for proposals (RFP) for case management services.

"This is an opportunity for not-forprofits working with seniors to obtain work from the City. The RFP has been issued following an extensive discussion the Department had with city residents regarding its future plans," Senator Smith said.

The RFP has been posted on the Dept.'s website, www.nyc.gov/aging, with a start date of April 1, 2008.

"Many of the concerns expressed by the community have been included in the RFP, and there will be changes in the ways programs have been operated," Senator Smith said.

Some of the changes include staff training, criminal background checks for employees, and conflict of interest disclosure.
