Rockaway Clean Up with Councilman Sanders

The men who stepped up and volunteered got their feet wet as they swept away the pool of standing water.
Volunteers answered Councilman James Sanders' call for black and Latino men to help clean up the Rockaway community. Approximately 30 volunteers, men and women, joined Sanders on Saturday, October 20 at 10 a.m., at Conch Playground located on Beach 51 Street and Beach Channel Drive.

Those who volunteered spent the afternoon removing standing water, painting benches, planting bulbs and clearing catch basins.

The park cleanup will take place bi-monthly. If you are interested in volunteering or for further information, contact the Office of Councilman James Sanders Jr. at 718-471-7014.
