Fontbonne Hall Swim Team Kicks Off Season

In one of the earliest season starts in recent memory, the Girls Catholic High School Athletic Association (GCHSAA), 2007 swim year kicked off last weekend.

The swimming Bonnies, of Fontbonne Hall Academy started the season as defending Brooklyn Champion in fine form with a 89-76 victory over the combined Saint John's Prep/ Christ the King, team.

Excellent swim times were posted in the 200 medley relay by Alexa Morrisey, Olivia O'Hara, Catherine Muldoon, and Michelle Powers (2:19.0); in the 50 freestyle by Jacklyn Izzo (30.5); and all three placers in the 100 backstroke, Alexa Morrisey (1:15.5), Justine Macready (1:19.6), and Megan Morris (1:21.5).

Fontbonne Hall coaches Joe Verponi, Laura Delin, Kathy Kocur and Melissa Crivelli are looking forward to a very successful season.
