Cheryl Lynn Turrentine
Detective

Cheryl Turrentine, a longtime Rockaway resident, died October 6. She was 42.

Turrentine was born in Rockaway Beach on March 11, 1965. She worked with Elmhurst Hospital Police as a detective. She was also a union shop steward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Peterson and brother, Charles Turrentine Jr.

Turrentine is survived by her mother, Syandra Thomas Turrentine; brothers, Anthony, Kevin, and Geneo; sister, Syandra Turrentine; sisters-inlaw, Anna and Debra; half brother and sister, Randy Robinson and Debra Springer; nephew, Joseph Turrentine- Mayo; god daughter, Khadijah Pitts; god mother, Marcia Thomas-Demos; great aunt, Bernice Heriot; aunt Lucy- May Kendrick; adopted siblings, Cynthia Liggins and John White; friend, Roosevelt Harrison; the Thomas family; the Kendrick family; the Gumbs family; the Robinson family; and many relatives, friends and coworkers.
