Sarnoff Exhibit Draws Crowds To Fort Tilden Gallery
A Sunday opening for a retrospective exhibit by local artist and editorial cartoonist Robert Sarnoff drew crowds to Fort Tilden last weekend. Sarnoff is The Wave's editorial cartoonist and his paintings, short films and other works are often seen at Rockaway Artists Alliance exhibits.
Sarnoff stands in front of large, painted sign that announces the new exhibition.
Sarnoff chats with some of those who attended the exhibit. The opening reception on Sunday, October 14 attracted a large crowd and press that enjoyed the variety of mediums, subjects and styles displayed by the versatile artist. "Robert Sarnoff Retrospective" is on view through November 4. Gallery hours are Saturdays 12-4 p.m., Sundays 1-4 p.m. and by appointment.
Some of the most popular paintings and prints in the exhibition represented sports heroes such as Muhammad Ali and Larry Csonka.
