Jan Plattner

Jan Plattner, a lifelong Far Rockaway resident, died October 1.

Plattner, who recently moved to Jamaica, Queens with his family, was born in Far Rockaway in 1955. He was a volunteer at the 101 precinct and assisted with the Police Athletic League for many years.

Plattner was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Stanley Plattner.

He is survived by his sister, Terri Dyckoff; his brother Marc Plattner, Gladys Duncan and their children, Brandon and Megan; his step-children, Ava, Eva, Keith, Kevin, Kori, Letrisha, and Damien.

A service was held at Parkside Memorial Chapel. Interment was at Knollwood Cemetery in Ridgewood.
