Note-Job Bandit Hits Wavecrest Bank
A man in his late 20's or early 30's walked into the Bank of America branch at 231 Beach 20 Street in Wavecrest at about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 and passed a note demanding money to the teller, police say. The man was described as having a mustache and dark skin and was wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. Sources say that the teller handed over between $2,300 and $3,000 to the robber, who then fled in an unknown direction. The bank manager then called police. Officers were dispatched to check other Bank of America branches on the mainland and in nearby Nassau County. Detectives from the 101 Squad are investigating. Anybody with information is asked to call the detectives at 718-868-3429.
