BCAC Midget Shamrocks Rock North Babylon On The Road

The BCAC Midget Shamrocks woke up very early on Sunday morning to travel to North Babylon for a 9 a.m. gridiron matchup.

The early rising Shamrock players had the energy to come out to play. Though N. Babylon scored the first touchdown, the Shamrocks quickly evened the score.

Key blocks by Vinnie Spirito, Andrew Conklin, Mike Perrotto, George Baroudos and Billy Collins sparked the BCAC offense. RB Chris Manfre (10 carries, 88 yards) scored on a four- yard touchdown to tie the game. The Shamrock defense got tough with big hits by Paul Yodice (10 tackles) Tom Kelly, Zack Warner, Evan Riviere, Tim Panetta, Anthony Perrotto, Marco Minichino and Vinnie Finizio.

The Shamrocks took the lead when QB Luke Schreiner scrambled to the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown run. Key blocks were made by Mike "Rudy" Conneely, Matt Trudden,

The BCAC defense stopped N. Babylon with the help of tackles by Brian Ganun, Alex Passarella and Nick Manzi. Billy Collins blocked the North Babylon punt and the Shamrock recovered the ball.

Schreiner would connect on a 15- yard pass to wide receiver Charlie Gavigan with a 15 yd touchdown pass to make the score 19-6.

North Babylon scored on a safety and a late touchdown to make it 19- 14, which was the final score of an impressive Shamrocks victory.

The BCAC victory was a big win as they improved their record to 3-1. The coaching staff would like to thank the players for their excellent performance on the field and the parents, grandparents and friends for coming out on the road and loudly supporting the team.
