      David Esaw, a longtime Rockaway resident, died October 1. Esaw, a porter, was born on May 5, 1919 in St. Matthews, South Carolina. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he sang in the Male Chorus. According to family, he was a sharp dresser who took pride in his suits and ties.

      Louida Trimmier, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died October 1. Trimmier was born in Anderson, South Carolina on February 12, 1912. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Far Rockaway since 1976. In May of 2007 she was honored by the Church when she reached her 80th birthday.
