BCAC Shamrock "Green"Peanuts Stymie Syosset

This past Saturday, the BCAC Peanut Shamrocks returned home from two tough road games to host Syosset at Memorial Field in Broad Channel.

After a slow start on both sides of the ball, the Shamrocks turned it on with the defense leading the way. Chris Flood, Tim Mehta, and Joey Maldonado anchored a defensive line that put pressure on Syosset from the start of the second half to the end of the game.

The linebackers led by a relentless Mike O'connel, John Weiss, and Nick Wood showed how tought they can be when the 3 combined to stop Syosset on four straight plays at the goaline as time ticked away in the fourth quarter.

Inspired by the defense, the Shamrocks offense took the ball after the goalline stand, and marched down the field for the tying score. Sebastian Freiberg, Luke Jackowski, and Nick Galimi provided the crucial blocking and RB Jason Kinneary stormed into the end zone with time running down for the touchdown.

Kinneary finished with 73 yards rushing and one touchdown to highlight the Shamrock attack. This week, the Shamrocks will be at BCAC Memorial Field for a contest against Hempstead on Saturday at 6 p.m. Hope to see you all at the field to cheer on our Peanut Shamrocks.
