Shamrock White Peanut Team Takes Road Trip To Bethpage

The Shamrocks Peanuts (White Team) ventured out on Sunday to play the Bethpage Eagles. After a slow start due to the early time and the first travel game, the Eagles jumped out to a first half lead on the Shamrocks.

Down but not out, the team made some adjustments, helped themselves to some of Papa Walsh's chocolate, and came out raring to go. Asimply outstanding second half of football was played by the Peanuts as they demonstrated heart and perseverance.

The defense completely shut down the high powered offense of the Eagles. This was accomplished by a rock solid line led by James and Christian Agoglia, Timothy McCabe, Johnny Walsh, Christian Appel and James Carson. At linebackers were John Baroudos Michael McManus, John Mullally, Phoenix Parker and Aidan Smith.

Jack Collins and Dillon Ostrander patrolled the secondary and allowed nothing to pass by them.

The offense responded in kind with crushing blocks led by Robert Baldiran, John Mullen, John Baroudos, James Agoglia and James Carson.

Due to this high level of line play, the Shamrocks were able to deftly put two scores on the board.

QB Aidan Smith executed a flawless hand off to RB Johnny Walsh, who thundered twenty-five yards around the left end for a touchdown.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Shamrocks struck another blow to the Eagles when Big Timmy McCabe went sprinting down the length of the field off of the right tackle for yet another score.

Bryan Bostwick was sidelined with a fever and Ian Byrne is still on the injured reserve list. Both boys were missed.

All the coaches are extremely proud of this team. As the delighted faithful who made the trip will attest, these guys pulled together, encouraged one another and never gave up.

Come out and see them take on the Plainview Blue team this Sunday at BCAC Memorial Field at 10 a.m. If you have not already stopped at the Shamrock tent to see Michelle, please do so and let everyone else know what we already do-SHAMROCKS ROCK!
