On Thursday, September 25, 2007, the firefighters of Engine 257 Ladder 170 hosted the sixth Annual "A-Team" Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, at the Riis Park Recreational Facility.

The tournament is played in honor of Lt. Joseph Cavalieri, FF Christopher Bopp and FF James Bohan from Ladder 170, who all made the ultimate sacrifice on December 18, 1998.

"Whenever Lt. Cavalieri worked he always said he had the 'A Team' working with him," said FF Paul Peterson of Ladder-170. "So we thought it was a great way to honor our brothers."

This year's tournament was host to over 50 teams from firehouses all over the five boroughs.

This year, a special guest, Wounded Warrior Staff Sgt. John Boarders, helped to open the festivities with a ceremonial jump ball.

The proceeds from the tournament go to the "A-Team" Memorial Fund, which helps a high school student with his or her tuition.
