Mattie L.Cameron

Mattie Cameron, a Rockaway resident, died September 30. She was 88.

Cameron was born in Carrolton, Alabama on September 17, 1919. She was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary board, Mother's board, and the senior choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Cherryl Robbins; grandchildren, Sharelle and Khaliq; sister, Emma Plott; nephews, John Robbins and Keith Worshaim; nieces, Johnnie M. Harris, Liz Simpkins, Hattie O'Neil, Annie Williams, Betsy Williams, Marilyn Robbins, Ida Robbins and Tanya Prendergast; her very close friends, Ester and Delores; and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and services were held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery in Farmingdale.
