Cabrera And Pierre Take 'Cop Of The Month'
Police Officers Eric Cabrera (left) and Bryan Pierre (center) were named "Cop of the Month" for July and August, respectively, at the September meeting of the 100 Precinct Community Council. Captain Charles Neacy (right), the precinct's former commanding officer, said Cabrera, responding to a 911 call, arrested three men and recovered the merchandise they allegedly stole from a store on Beach 116 Street. "Thanks to a local resident's involvement and Police Officer Cabrera's arrest of the three [men], a potential major burglary condition was avoided," said Neacy. Officer Pierre was honored for arresting an armed man who, along with three others, had allegedly menaced another police officer with a handgun. "Thanks to Officer Pierre's bravery, perseverance and self-sacrificing actions, one less firearm is on the streets of the Rockaways, and one more bad guy is in jail," said Neacy.
