Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Recruit Apprentices

The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, Local 1, will conduct recruitment from September 28 through February 29 for 60 openings in apprenticeship programs, including: (20) bricklayer, (10) stonemason, (10) plasterer and (20) pointer-caulker-cleaner.

Applications will be available at the International Masonry Institute, 12-07 44 Avenue, Long Island City, on the last Friday of each month during the recruitment period, except December 28. Applicants must be present by 8 a.m.; no one will be admitted after 8:30 a.m.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess sufficient reading and math comprehension skills to satisfactorily complete onthe job training and related technical instruction. Ahigh school or general equivalency diploma is recommended; applicants accepted for the program must complete a 12-week pre-job training course and be physically able to do the work.
