Burns, who was born in Manhattan, is survived by his wife, Audrey Sullivan Burns; sons, Joseph (Dawn) and Brian; grandchildren, Joseph and Owen; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements and were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at O'Connor's on Friday, September 28 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 29, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, Queens.
