for larger version       The Bronfman Youth Fellowships in Israel The Bronfman Youth Fellowship in Israel (BYFI) is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for its summer program, which has been in existence for 22 years. The fellowship takes a group of 26 high school students to Israel for five weeks of intensive study and travel. The BYFI, founded by Edgar M. Bronfman, offers an opportunity for students entering the twelfth-grade to participate in a program designed to develop future community leaders. After the summer, fellows participate in a fall follow-up seminar in New York and are invited to a winter seminar with the Amitim in Connecticut. They are also asked to do 40 hours of community service during their senior year in high school.
High School students in the U.S. and Canada, from all Jewish backgrounds, are invited to apply. Only those who will be entering the twelfthgrade in the fall of 2008 are eligible to apply this year, however. Applications for the 2008 Fellowship are available online at www.bronfman.org and must be received by January 15, 2008.
