As butterflies and bees flew around a flowerbed planted in his memory, family and friends gathered at Shore Front Parkway and Beach 77 Street to remember Andre Anderson, who died after being hit by a SUV there in 2005.
At Sunday's memorial, which was held almost two years to the date the 14-year-old lost his life as he was riding his bicycle, Andre was remembered as a "kind, loving, caring boy who was helpful to everyone."
