Peanut Shamrocks Get Solid Performance Against Glen Cove

The Broad Channel Athletic Club Peanut Shamrocks (White) team hosted the Glen Cove Cardinals this past week, at BCAC Memorial Field.

Both teams played outstanding football. The Shamrocks fielded a formidable defense, with "double trouble" in the form of Christian Agoglia, James Agoglia, Timothy McCabe and John Walsh.

The rest of the defensive linebackers and safeties did an excellent job; as Phoenix Parker, John Baroudos, Mike McManus, Aiden Smith, Christian Appel, Dillon Ostrander and Jack Collins held down a powerful Cardinals offense.

On offense, the Shamrocks were equally impressive, with solid line play by veterans Walsh, James Carson, Bryan Bostwick, Robert Baldiran and John Mullen. QB Smith was impressive in engineering a scoring drive as McCabe recoded a touchdown run.

We would like to acknowledge our teammate, Ian Byrne, who is recovering from a broken wrist and Jack Mullally, who could not be with us.

We are very proud of our Shamrocks, who are off to a great start learning the necessary basic football skills, along with sportsmanship. Come see some more great play next Saturday at 4 p.m. as we host the Oyster Bay Peanuts.
