Click Here for More Information Thanks CB 14 For Pool Decision I would like to congratulate and thank the members of Community Board 14 for their position regarding the proposed YMCA in Rockaway. In a motion put forward by Moishe Bain and passed by the Board [by vote of] 28 - 10, Community Board 14 expressed its disappointment in the current YMCA plan, which inadequately meets the needs of our community. At the standing-room-only meeting, the Knights Of Columbus was filled with both old and new residents, voicing opposition to the facility as planned. To see overwhelming YMCA expansion support by educators, coaches, clergy, parents, lifeguards, athletes and so many others, was very impressive. I encourage my neighbors and all Rockaway civic groups to write our elected officials in order to obtain the necessary funding to get this project right from the beginning.
