Far Rockaway's Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School Reaches Record

Students and staff of The Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School (PPA) opened its doors for a fourth year, after completing a successful academic school year in Far Rockaway. Third-grade students exceeded the local district in reading achievement. The school's overall reading scores exceeded those of the local district. The PPA also announced the receipt of an excellent Third-Year Comprehensive Monitoring Report from the State Education Department.

The Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School, which opened its doors in August 2004, has been selected to participate in the five-year, $10.5 million Teacher Incentive Fund grant from the United States Department of Education.
