for larger version       Holmes Graduates From Army Training Army National Guard Private Latoya J. Holmes has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Holmes studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and received instruction and practice in physical fitness, basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, and participated in foot marches and field training exercises. She is the daughter of Amelia Holmes of Arverne, and a 2004 graduate of Beach Channel High School, Rockaway Park.y
