Aviation Buffs Drawn To Floyd Bennett Field For Vintage Fly-In
Aviation buffs from all over the region were drawn to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn over the weekend for a Fly-In of vintage aircraft sponsored by Gateway National Park. On hand were park officials and elected officials, such as Congressman Anthony Weiner. Also on hand were a number of members of the Tuskegee Airmen, who flew P-51 Mustangs in protection of our bomber forces over Europe during World War II. Aircraft on hand ranged from modern helicopters and singleengine aircraft to some used during World War II. All photos by Ryan Schwach.
