Teen Busted For Robbery,Attempted Murder
By Howard Schwach

A Far Rockaway teenager, who allegedly put a gun to a man's head and demanded his money, was arrested in Jamaica on Sunday for allegedly shooting the man five times

Police say that Daniel Manning, 19, of 440 Beach 54 Street, was arrested shortly after he accosted the unnamed man on the corner of 102 Avenue and Allendale Street in Jamaica at about 10:30 p.m. on September 9.

Court records supplied by Queens District Attorney Richard Brown show that Manning demanded the money from the unidentified 23-year-old victim by saying, "If you know what's good for you, you'll give it up."

When the man stepped back and resisted, records say, Manning shot him five times

Manning then reportedly fled the scene, stripping off his hat and sweatshirt and throwing them in a nearby trashcan.

Eyewitnesses told responding police about Manning and he was caught two blocks away and identified as the shooter.

A .357 caliber revolver, also identified by eyewitnesses, was found inside a nearby light pole. The clothing was also recovered from the trashcan.

A spokesperson for Brown told The Wave that Manning was arraigned on charges of attempted murder, robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Sources say that the victim remains in stable condition at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica.

Manning was remanded to jail and will remain there without bail pending his next hearing in early October.
