North Channel YC Hosts Kids Snapper Derby
The North Channel Yacht Club in Broad Channel hosted the annual Inter Yacht Club Association Kids Snapper Derby last Sunday, September 2. Sixty-seven anglers, ages 12 and under, took turns fishing their hearts out under the watchful eyes of Jimmy and Emily Ott, parents and volunteers from the NCYC. Photo: First place went to Jamie Arnemann (right); second place to Ryan O'Reilly (center); and third went to Ryan Kuyl. The other young anglers caught quite a few healthy snappers, but "Tiger," past commodore of the NCYC, "lost more bait than he does golf balls," chuckled yacht club member Paul Arnemann. All of the NCYC's guests enjoyed food and other goodies, and the kids were awarded trophies. Photos courtesy of Paul Arnemann
