Major Events At Gateway Set For This Weekend

A number of events are set this weekend, September 8 and 9 at Gateway National Park. The Rockaway Music And Arts Council will host its annual Fall Festival at Riis Park on both days, beginning at 11 a.m. Pictured, local artist Arlene Cornell gets a blue ribbon for her watercolors at last year's event. In addition, the New York Kite Festival will run both days on the beach at Bay 9 and Floyd Bennett Field, on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn will host a Fly-In made up of vintage aircraft. The Rockaway Artists Alliance will be hosting an opening of two exhibits at For Tilden at the same time.
