Little Feat,Richie Furay At North Fork Theatre 9/28
Little Feat is an eclectic band that brings together strains of blues, R&B, country, and rock & roll. Little Feat was first formed by songwriter, singer and guitarist Lowell George and keyboard player Bill Payne in 1969 in Los Angeles. The band broke up shortly before George's death in 1979, and was reformed nine years later by Bill Payne, Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett. Little Feat shows are high energy jams of their vast catalogue including early hit songs like ""Sailin Shoes," "Dixie Chicken," "Oh Atlanta," "Willin'," and "Fat Man In the Bathtub," as well as latter day hits such as "Let It Roll." In concert, the band plays a selection of fan favorites such as "Hate To Lose Your Lovin'," "Texas Twister," "Hate To Lose Your Lovin'," "Feats Don't Fail Me Now," and "Shake Me Up." With just one line-up change in almost 30 years, Little Feat is supported by an enthusiastic core audience and tours regularly each year. There current CD, ROCKY MOUNTAIN JAM, released earlier this year on Hot Tomato Records displays the elasticity of their playing style.
In 1974, Furay joined the Souther Hillman Furay band and was introduced to Christianity by pedal steel guitarist Al Perkins. He continues to tour as a solo artists and occasionally with Poco. In 2006 he toured with Linda Ronstadt and his latest CD, The Hearbeat of Love, revisits his country rock sound.
